I strongly recommend not taking your child to this daycare. My son started here in September and we pulled him out today. In this time frame myself and husband spoke with the school 4 times regarding issues we had. One being curriculum which was asked about when doing the tour since he had one year before starting school. They told me oh yes we have one that goes by the school district. LIES my son only came home with stuff that was colored or painted and it had nothing to do with letters or numbers. My son has a memory like an elephant and each day when asking him what he did each day he would reply “I don’t know”. Me and my husband were getting frustrated with him so we would ask questions like what did you do in circle time? Trying to figure out what he did all day other than coloring or painting. He would say play. Yes that’s all this school did was play in centers or outside. No learning to get him ready for school. After asking the 2nd time of an outline of the curriculum I got a monthly outline that was about learning big or small. Then my son would tell about 5 different teachers each week never just one or two he would be with daily. I was told by my son that he wasn’t sleeping on his napping mat that was provided by me. When questioning the school they said they would make sure he would be allowed to get it from his classroom to lay on it. Well now my son has molluscum contagious which his doctor confirmed it was by touch of another child. He started having these bumps 3 weeks after starting there. Which doesn’t surprise me because when walking in the mornings compared to the afternoon is like night an day. It’s smells like fresh scents in the morning but the afternoon smells like nasty dirty diapers. The only reason I gave them a one was cause yes the staff was nice but that’s the only plus about this daycare!!! Also my son had multiple accidents of getting hurt. Yes I know boys will be boys but he was not being watched while playing on the playground it what my husband witnessed one day when getting him early. And last they closed this school at random times giving the parents only a few days notice for staff meetings at 5 in the afternoon when their hours state 6-630. This was a very big inconvenience for parents who work daily!!! Please think very hard before putting your child in this daycare….it’s not a preschool at all!!!
I wanted to wait a while before I shared our experience with light house. My son started here in Aug and was dismissed by Oct.. Everyone was REALLY NICE here teachers/directors. Honestly it wasn’t a good fit for him and that’s okay, our son was TOTALLY different while attending here, we pulled him out of his last school and into this one for a more structured environment but it didn’t work for him AT ALL he was being a little terror while attending here WHICH WE NEVER EXPERIENCED at his previous school before, we didn’t know what it was, we attended many director conferences while attending here and was shown video of his emotional outburst and we tried everything but ultimately it boiled down to the school just not being a good fit for our kid. I just want to offer up some encouragement if u experience this because we felt just overwhelmed/discouraged for the two months we were there. The directors tried to work with us but after so many infractions he was dismissed from here. I took him to his doctor which was recommended by one of the directors to try to see if a behavioral specialist was needed and she told us that one was not needed and she believed it was just not a fit for him, some times you have to try different schools she seen and delt with alot of parents going through the exact same thing. Ultimately that’s what we did and THANK GOD we haven’t had ANY PROBLEMS so stay encouraged if it doesn’t work out here just try somewhere else.
