I am a parent of 2 children at this school. It has vastly improved since they started going there. There was a period where I was doubtful of the school and the direction it was going in but since the new leadership team took the reigns my opinion has changed. The headteacher and staff are very friendly, helpful and engage well with children and parents. Facilities and enrichment activities are very good. There is a nice community feel at drop off and pick up times, there’s always a friendly face to chat to in the playground (Parents and Staff). Exam results were excellent for summer 2017 and New North Academy are currently in the top percentile of Islington Schools. The staff and Governing Body work incredibly hard to create a safe and inspiring learning environment and are always seeking ways to improve things. I would highly recommend the school, go and visit on open days and see for yourself.
I am a supply teacher and I helped New North Academy for few days. It was an outstanding experience, the warmest staff and welcome I ve ever met. Their dedication and support for children made me feel proud to be a teacher. Five stars are not enough for my appreciation! Well done New North Academy!
My son started in September 2017, joining year 5 a little late in the term after suffering bullying at his previous school, The team at New North all went the extra mile to help him through resettlement in a school after suffering from anxiety, from the office/admin staff up to the head, they all made us both feel so welcome and supported us through a really difficult period. They were extremely patient with us both! I like that the school takes care of a child’s mental and emotionally wellbeing and recognises that this is as important as a child’s academic achievement, they are children here and not just a SATS result on a league table. I’ve also found that the school allows them to still be children and they seem to have great fun whilst learning.
I am very proud of the achievements of pupils at New North Academy in the last academic year, who have produced fantastic Key Stage 2 results. Over the last two years, with the changes in leadership, the improved behaviour, and new school uniform, has contributed to a school that has performed exceptionally well and will only continue to improve.
