The school is not worth the price. They say they want the best and brightest, but if your child doesn’t fit in, they will bounce him/her like a hot potato. An involved parent in local schools will get as good or better results and save 30,000 per year. Fair notice – my son was a student here and was told to leave. He went to PS 8, and then on to Bronx High School of Science. My issue is with the administration, not the teachers who are top notch.
This is a great school that lives up to the values it espouses. I spent 7 years there, my younger brother 9. Packer introduced us to not just New York but the world beyond the borders of our city–encouraging both of us to study away for a semester in Colorado while in high school. We learned to be intellectually curious, inquisitive, and open-minded. My Packer education has helped me to excel in the workplace today, as an adult.
