This is not the childcare provider you want to send your child to. My child attended Pangea (formally known as Oak Grove) for a little over two years and this was our experience.

– My kids asthma medication was lost by staff multiple times. It put him in danger and me out of >$800.
– They don’t do parent teacher conferences, even if you request one.
-There is a lot of screen time at this center. I can’t tell you how many times I picked up my child (at different time points throughout the day) to find his class looking at a screen.
– Security is lacking. On multiple occasions, I’ve been able to walk inside this location, go past various rooms with kids and pick up my child from a teacher who has never met me without being verified that I was an authorized pickup.
-Too many last minute school closures in the middle or beginning of the day due to water, power or pipes. I would be called saying I had an hour to pick up my child (when I worked 1.5 hours away). -They gave <2 weeks notice of changing their closing time from 6:30 PM to 6:00 PM. Hardly enough time for a parent to find a new childcare provider if their commute didn't work with the hours. - Turnover seems higher than other daycares. In a 1-2 month span, my kid had 4-5 different teachers. At a certain point, I stopped checking Class dojo. They say they post pics and vids but it really depends. One day you may get 3 pictures and they might not even include your child in them. Then you may get radio silence for a week. Then you might get a new teacher. It's hard to follow. -The mosquitos here are vicious. They will ask you to send mosquito spay. However, its a lucky draw if it gets applied. Kids move around so much and the teachers don't even know what belongs to who. So even though I personally handed over multiple bottles of bug spray to stay, my kid still came home bleeding from way too many mosquito bites. It was seldom that a bandaid was put on for a bleeding bite. -Too many times my kid came home with scratches or a bite and there would be zero explanation from the daycare. When I would ask, I would get blank stares. - On their incident report form, there is an option for the teachers to check "I don't know". So your kid could come home with a bite mark and the teachers can just check "i don't know" and somehow, that is an acceptable response there. - The outside play area leaves much to be desired. I'd also deduce that shade is to be desired there. - The food served to those children leaves much to desired. -Classroom features are lacking. Outdated toys/equipment. Additionally, the classroom "curriculum" is rarely used, if even at all. -Parking and drop off can be a nightmare. There are very few spots to park. There are multiple times I've been stuck there for >20 minutes.
-“After-school” activity options that have an additional fee are more stress than advantageous. Third party vendors will provide services like computer science or dance to the school and then drop out with zero warning or classes are cancelled frequently (but you still pay for the month).
– Staff morale is noticeably low. The vast majority of the teachers are visibly burned out.
– You don’t want Ms. Bermudez as your child’s teacher.
– Not an easy task to get in touch with the Director, Ms. Siri or her husband. Sometimes they will respond to an email, but for the most part they are ignored. Their time also seems to be split with their other center in Loganville so catching them in person is even more difficult.

This center is “affordable” for a reason. They will repeatedly request parents/guardians to leave a positive review on google while leaving your ClassDojo message on read. I’ve been asked by the director to leave a positive review on google way more times than she’s taken the time to work/communicate with my family.

So here’s the review that was requested of me, by the center.
I hope it helps someone find an alternative.

My daughter was attending Pangea School for over a year ago. At the beginning the receptionist at the front desk gave us a quote and locked us in with a price mind you we asked several times if tuition rate was gonna change, we did a tour of the school and told us my child was gonna start in august when we started the process of registering and finalize everything the receptionist tells us the rate has changed you know we weren’t okay about that but I needed a daycare and we had to choice but accept it. So around June 2023 we notify the staff my daughter was gonna be on vacation for the whole month of July we double checked and asked the front desk if my daughter’s spot and tuition wouldn’t changed when she returned in August, the receptionist guaranteed that wasn’t changing and to let the daycare know a week before of my daughter’s return. Called in let them know the returned date. Then all of sudden they messaged me saying tuition was gonna be raised this year again without any notice in advance and on top a 30% increase. I this point I’m furious one because of the poor management, no empathy for the kids and parents. No consideration at all!!! I would not recommend this daycare facility due to poor management. The owner Mrs. Siri is so unprofessional that not even out of courtesy called us back when we asked for a call back regarding tuition fee. I must say the teachers are great and my daughter loves Ms. Bermudez and Ms. Singleton but besides that owner/management lack professionalism. I moved my daughter to a different daycare. Bottom line is the lack of communication, empathy and understanding of us the parents are not there, end of day we need to plan ourselves financially since childcare is not cheap. But don’t come and try to blindside us!
