We started attending Thomas Edison Charter school seven years ago when my oldest started kindergarten. We heard about this school from a dear friend. We have absolutely loved being there and all four of my children are now attending. I have nothing but positive things to say about TECS. First off, I absolutely love the fact that there are teacher’s aides in every single classroom up through fifth grade. I love that they dive right in to reading and writing in kindergarten and even learn to read and write in cursive in second grade. I love the fact that our school strongly supports the constitution and teaches it. The fact that they want parents to serve and help in the classrooms and on the Parent organization board is awesome!
Thomas Edison Public Charter School is a fantastic place to be! The curriculum is challenging and the atmosphere is positive and welcoming. This school’s management program is based off of USU Professor Glen Latham’s management techniques, which focus almost entirely on positive behaviors and verbal reinforcement. TECS uses the Spalding Reading and Saxon Math programs, which are both backed by years of research. The adult to student ratio in an elementary classroom is about 1:15, which is amazing! Students get a lot of one on one attention and care. Students’ success and happiness are definitely the top priorities of the teachers and administration at this school.
I am a teacher here at Thomas Edison South and I absolutely love this school! I strongly identify with Thomas Edison’s mission statement to provide each student with the tools to become successful citizens and strive for high achievement. I appreciate that this school holds it’s expectations for students high and even better is that our excellent students respond so well to these expectations. They really strive to become their best selves. The teachers here are remarkable. They care so much about what they do and seek to give each student the support they need to find success.
