Fantastic school which I highly recommend. They ensure that the learning is fun and teach in a way that supports various learning styles. My son is very happy as his teachers have been exemplary in teaching and are caring. My son together with his class mates are extremely well mannered, confident and kind. There is a new sports hall being built and lots of facilities as well as free after school activities.
Although some staff members were not to private school standard, most were very good teachers who were not only supportive but also respectful. I really like the schools ethos and attitude towards learning. They also provide amazing opportunities that have changed my life for the better. I will miss my time here and am highly disappointed that my time here was cut off short. (Due to COVID-19)
Incredibly poor levels of staff respect and very childlike mannerisms.
Despite the smaller class sizes which are growing each year, the education is appalling.

This is also promoted as a charitable school, in classes where staff take advantage of this and purchase personal products through school expenses which i am personally paying for in my high school fees.

If i was ever going to have kids it would be state schooling any day compared to Thorpe Hall.

FURTHER READING/COMPREHENSION EXERCISE:

It is with sheer incredulity that I view the current rating for I am unable, unequivocally, to reconcile it with my experience, not so long ago.
Rating 5 [or above] I, wholeheartedly, recommend this centre of educational excellence to other practitioners, parents and, of course, the young people who are or become the heart of the institution (an officially listed top 100 independent). From initial interview to final goodbyes, my brief Term of office was a highlight of my professional life: it’s 5 [or above] 🙂

Questions:
1) What does the educational award-winning author recommend – based on his hands on classroom experience?
2) Name the groups of people the recommendation is aimed at.
3) Can you discern the inferred rating figure?
4) Can you spot the metaphor in this reading?
5) What seems odd about both overall and review ratings (clue: hyperbole).

Comprehension answers:1 Thorpe Hall School 2 Teachers, Parents & Children (any order) 3 No ceiling/ review rating 4 young people – become the heart (I’ll also accept centre – excellence) 5 Exaggerated or (perhaps) invalid or distorted evaluations. Time to tally up!!

My daughter recently had a trial 3 days for senior school it was a really positive experience for her
What really stood out for me is the way all the school staff from the headmaster to the care taker support and nurture pupils
We were very impressed and would highly recommend this school
