This school is overall horrible. This is not just the work Middle School in the district, its the worst SCHOOL in the district. First let me say having 11-14 year olds waking up at 5 AM in the morning is insane. They wonder why we are zombies and are always sleeping in class. The uniforms are horrendous and itchy. How is it fair that we are the ONLY school in the DISTRICT to have a uniform? When I think about it there is not a single class I can even stand. This is coming from a former teachers pet (Not anymore thank god). I have one teacher who literally hates me. There is racist and sexist teachers in this school. The building is old and practically crumbling. You can see how many times to the rail on the stairs have been painted over if you pick at it (4). They don’t let you carry your backpacks around so you have to carry books by hand. They SCREAM at you if you have your shirt untucked. All the staff is just rude, even some of the lunch people. At this school nobody is motivated to learn, because the teachers don’t care. All they do is give you packets and go on facebook on there computers. I’ll tell you this right now, If you are new to the county or a parent of a rising 5th grader who is districted to go to Toano. Either pay to have them go to another school, or move. I wish this year with redistricting that I could’ve been moved, but I wasn’t. If you are going to this school, be prepared for literal hell.

Honestly the school is terrible. The staff really doesn’t care much for the students or how they do best in class. Most teachers show obvious favoritism and then ignore the other students. Teachers also have a lack of communication between themselves and then yell at students because of a lack of communication. Teachers need to learn how to take their stress out on something other than students because I know that when I was on crutches last year there and had enough going on getting yelled at by a teacher for following what the nurse said to do wasn’t a great experience at all. I only found two teachers there that actually cared about me as a student and wish that other teachers would act the same towards students. Overall the school is horrible and I don’t recommend it for families or students to attend.

you know its an ok school, most of the time. i know I’ve had pretty good time here if you think the teachers are hard on you they only do that because they want you to do the best you can in life. The only thing i don’t like is the uniforms and even those make it easier on you because you don’t have to choose what to were in the morning anyways this is a pretty nice school
