I joined the school at age 6 and kept dancing with them until age 18- the members of the school become a real family and help you create really solid friendships and not only do you learn how to dance but the classes and performances build confidence too. The shows are great to be part of and are very professional- brilliant summer schools in holidays which I’d love being part of and the school also offered amazing exam tuition! I wish I lived closer now as would love to take advantage of their adult classes. Lianne the school principal is a creative genius- pushes her students to be the best they can be but also always has a sense of fun, really cares about her students and builds brilliant relationships with those in her classes! The school has grown from strength to strength over the years- can’t recommend enough!
My daughter had never done much dancing before starting with Turning Pointe at age 13. Lianne quickly found her level and let her join a Modern dance class with other teens and she has been lucky to start beginners Ballet for teens (a superb idea) and Tap for teens, when the new term starts. She has greatly improved and really enjoys her sessions. Lianne and all the teachers are highly experienced, welcoming and inclusive and nothing is too much trouble for her or Carmel who does the administration (and teaches too). We are thrilled to have found such a wonderful dance School.
My little boy (2 1/2 years) absolutely loves his Tiny Turners class with Miss Jess. The way she incorporates the dance moves into stories really captures his imagination and he loves showing off what he has learnt after his lessons. I have also taken part in some of the adult summer workshops which have been fantastic. All the teachers are lovely and supportive – we’re so glad to have found Turning Pointe!
My daughter (now 11) has been going to Turning Pointe for over a year. She currently attends ballet (one group and one private lesson), modern and musical theatre classes. This is the fourth dance school she has attended and is both her and my favourite. She loves the four different teachers she has, the other children in the classes are lovely and she has come on amazingly well in the year she has been with them.
She loved the week-long dance camp Turning Pointe ran in Summer 2022 and I loved watching the show they produced at the end. She is really excited about the show Turning Pointe are putting on in April 2023, and was delighted to have the opportunity to audition for acting, singing and dancing parts, as well as the group dances she is taking part in.
From my perspective, Turning Pointe are really responsive to emails and have been really helpful about progressing my daughter through the grades – they are rigorous about only putting children for exams if they are ready (as evidenced by the fact that children that took recent RAD ballet exams got many merits and distinctions!), but are happy to be flexible if your child is willing to work hard.
Absolutely love classes with Lianne, adult ballet and tap are really great and enjoyable. Lovely group of people, Lianne encourages us but keeps it fun and free!
I have danced with Turning Pointe for over 20 years and really enjoyed every class and teacher, from children’s classes to teen and adult. Would 100% recommend Turning Pointe!
