My husband took his child out of public school and put him in UBICA thinking he would get a better education. We paid $500/month to this school under the assumption it would be a great investment for our/his son’s future. If I could give this school 0 stars I would. This school withheld information from my husband that his child was failing because he was not meeting his daily goals, falling severely behind on his work, skipping school, and caught smoking cigarettes in their parking lot. Instead of asking for court documents concerning custody, they assumed that the mom was telling the truth that my husband wasn’t involved in his child’s life and took my husband’s name off of the parent contact information. When my husband noticed the change in his son’s behavior he called and asked to speak to the principal who also happened to be the pastor. He left numerous messages begging the pastor to talk to him about his concerns with his son’s education and behavior. The pastor never called him back. Instead they ignored my husband and allowed his son to graduate with a General Education Diploma which is the equivalent to a GED. This school will try to tell you their General Education Diploma is not a GED, but that is a lie that they’re trying to sell so parents will keep their kids enrolled in their school. Look it up! If your child gets that General Education Diploma, then all of the classes they could’ve taken in high school are required as pre-requisites at the college before you are even considered a college level student. That’s what they gave my husband’s son at the cost of $500/month. He could’ve gotten that for free at Daytona State. If you are considering private school, take them somewhere else where the pastors actually care for the child’s well being rather than avoiding a conflicting situation which could have easily been resolved with some pastoral counseling. Places like this are what give Christians a bad reputation.
Unprofessional, non-communicative staff, and have experienced multiple instances of staff intimidating and threatening students. Teachers have also been video taping students with their personal cell phones. I am appalled at the lack of care and concern for managing any types of issues. The teachers have resorted to name calling students as well as embarrassing students in front of other students with personal information that should not be shared in front of a class. I will never have my children return to this school and actively advocate for any family to not send their children to this school until major changes to leadership and handling of any type of miscommunication or discrepancies be made. I regret having my children be spoken to the way they have been spoken to by teachers that I have entrusted them to.
