Take your kid out of this school IMMEDIATELY. I used to go here and I wish my mother never enrolled me. If your kid is creative, this is the worst possible school for them. There are roaches, it’s ghetto, there are a lot of bullies, and they rely on humiliation to scare the kids straight. The principal named MS.JONES targeted me for a whole year. She suspended me every other day for problems that she would mostly start. One time, I was walking to class and she followed me and told me that she was going to walk me to class because it looked like I was wondering in the hallway (I was coming from the bathroom ??). My class was around the corner so I didn’t need her to walk with me and I said no. She insisted and walked with me anyway but I kept telling her that I’m okay. She said I had an attitude and I was benched. Then when I asked her what I was getting benched for, I got an in-school-suspension. It went on like this. My mother almost got fired because she had to constantly leave work to get me from school. The Dean told my parents that Ms. Jones was building up a case to get me expelled. I was reading the other comments about this school and they are saying the same thing as me. She needs to get fireddd??????. Also, when a student gets suspended, they have to write a useless essay and read it in front of the whole school. And even after that, the teachers follow up with questions that you already answered in your essay. Surprisingly, the curriculum in the school is good. They teach us well, but they have to get themselves together??. If I wanted to keep going I could write a book. But Northstar doesn’t my deserve time or your money. Thank you????!
Downtown Middle School is anti-feminist. Half of the guys there are inappropriate and racist; any color is racist. And when it finally was reported no one did anything about it! (Except for Ms. Vallo and Ms. Gargano). I am fed up, treat girls right.
The school is way too strict, I get trying to keep kids in line, but expecting them to ‘tough up’ to racism is baffling. If anything were reported to the DEAN OF STUDENTS, you would have to be on their case, every day, every second, maybe even call a parent or guardian to speak with them for change to happen. And even after all that, this would be a tiny punishment for like 1 day.
Also, a lot of the ‘bullies’ are popular. I never knew it was cool to pick on someone but okay. I would give zero stars if I could, I am so glad I left this year.
Unfortunately, this school does not consider or care about the child’s well being. Bullied students are left to figure it out. To point of having the bully and the victim in the same class. EI: a student is being bullied for her/his skin color, the school refuses to do anything with the bully as she/he is another check in their books. Please protect your child/children. If your kids goes to this school, be present and hold the school responsible.
