As a very protective parent and moving to the US from a small island where everybody knows everybody and everybody is family. Of course I was very apprehensive of all public schools in America after doing my research. America is so different in had to register my son for school and they made a choice of school based on zip code unless I was rich would have a choice and afford a private school. I prayed that Good would get him into a good school and at first he was selected into one school then within a day another school contacted me and that school was UAH and he started in Grade 3 and his teacher Miss Batista was a darling. Very caring teacher. His new teacher Mr Leslie is good as well, a grade 4 teacher while he is strict which I don’t mind, he too cares about this students. He respects them and my son has the out most respect for him. The bottom line is my son has been very happy attending this school and is always eager to go to school. Does not want to miss a day and that says a lot. The other teachers in hear about and have had interactions with Miss Santana and Miss Rosario they are pretty easy going and great teachers. Thank you UAH for peace of mind. All the best and wishing you success in all your future endeavors.
This school apparently are okay with kids putting their hands on eachother. They do NOT do anything when it comes to bullying.

They are currently allowing the boys who assaulted my niece get away with their actions! The assault occurred on their premise during dismissal. They are trying to rule it as “horse playing” and “self defense.”

During a conference to discuss the issue, the other 2 parents were speaking their foreign language to the Dean of Discipline and the Dean didn’t even translate what the women were saying. That is completely unprofessional and bias. On top of that, it is very unprofessional of the Principal to NOT attend the meeting or even reaching out to my sister about the issue.

As a result, the boys only got suspended and the school thought that suspension should be enough. How is 2 boys against 1 girl fair? How is that self defense when they put their hands on her FIRST?! I guess it’s nobodys problem if it’s not their kids right? #BPS #BostonPublicSchools
