Virtual Academy of North Texas is a great school with amazing teachers. The student/teacher interaction and the in-person days are so well balanced! The field days are perfectly planned with activities keeping the kids engaged during the time of the events. Since covid, our family transitioned to virtual school and WFH due to personal reasons, and it was a blessing when we found Virtual Academy with teacher lead classes where the kids can have the classroom experience and not have to do all the work on their own. Prior to attending Virtual Academy, we researched many other virtual programs and even purchased a curriculum for over 3k where my daughter only saw 2 teachers for 30 minutes 2Xs per week. This school is definitely an amazing school!!! My 3rd grader has her primary teacher for writing, lang, reading math, and different teachers for science, social studies, P.E., and fine arts (they are all amazing). The kids are constantly engaged with different after-school clubs and fun activities throughout!!! If you are looking for a “true virtual” school, you need to give them a try!!!!

This is our first year trying out the Virtual Academy. My daughter really likes it and has learned and grown a lot academically as well as socially. I do have to put my effort as her “learning coach” into making sure all her daily assignments are completed and turned in. She is only a first grader, so I’m sure as she gets older she will become more independent with that aspect. Her teachers are wonderful, helpful, and caring. The Academy also has special “in person” optional days which is nice and my daughter enjoyed that. This gives the students an opportunity to interact and meet their teachers/classmates. The classroom live sessions for math/Reading are split up which makes it nice, so that the teacher can have a smaller group of kids to help and focus on. The teacher also has office hours so if a student needs a little extra instruction they can meet up with their teacher. I like that on Fridays its all Asynchronous, this gives the students and learning coaches time to catch up and turn in assignments. We love the Virtual Academy of North Texas!!
