These people that work in this office are very prejudice!!!! I was explaining a terrible situation that I’m going through and the lady on the phone laughed at me and I explained to her that nothing about that was funny and she shouldn’t laugh because you never know what someone is experiencing!!! She laughed so n my ear on the phone, they are taking me through so much just to enroll my daughter into VPK I really don’t think anything about my situation was funny. Just because you sit at a desk all day and determine who you could accept and deny into a program doesn’t make you any better than the other person on the other side of the phone. When someone decides to take their life because eod Hardships is it funny then??? No it’s not and that was very unprofessional I wish I knew how to file a complaint for discrimination against this VPK program……I stated that I was homeless and she said well I know you slept somewhere lastnight…..How do you know that? HOWWWW???? Stop assuming you know a persons life YOU DONT KNOW ANYTHING! I’m so upset but God got me and where there’s a will there’s a way. Be blessed VPK!
The “full-day” VPK my daughter attends at my son’s elementary school doesn’t match the school hours for the K-5 kids, a fact I learned AFTER THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! Enrollment day is a zoo, everyone goes in person to the office ALL AT ONCE. Payment is a giant hassle, and if you happen to forget (because there are no bills and NO REMINDERS) to pay you have to go all the way to Lake Mary in person. Run, don’t walk, to a private VPK provider. The “advantage” of having your children in the same school (all I wanted to do for my VPK and 4th grader) isn’t worth the hassle. I didn’t switch her since she already had fallen in love with her teacher, but regretted it every day that I did TWO car lines. When I brought these issues to the director she “took notes”, not action, and actually said to me: “You know, it is a VOLUNTARY program.”. Unreal. I had none of these issues at the private VPK providers my sons attended.
Withdrew my daughter and placed her in private VPK. They need to expand their program to be able to include everyone’s child, am and pm, if requested. I mean this is OUR town and city too, so it should accommodate everyone, not just people who get to register their kids first. Ridiculous.
