As an international student here, I had a positive experience. I was very shy and I didn’t speak English very well so I couldn’t communicate with anyone, there were a group of inclusive students who helped me through the year. And I’ll never forget this one teacher that influenced my life so much~ Mrs Wilensky, she helped me and had so much patience with me, she knew I couldn’t understand or speak english so she helped me through talking into a online translator. She was the best teacher I’ve ever had. Now, 6 years later since the last time I’ve went there, I can only remember happiness from there.
As a student who went to the school. I learnt the same things from years 2-4. got taught the basic’s and that about it. the punishment system is horrible and does nothing. the teachers are very careless (except Mrs Wilson, Ms Biddle), the school is very underfunded with mostly 2000’s tech. It needs a better sped program as the entire school had to go into lockdown because one was running around the school stealing keychains and another time someone stabbed someone. do not go to this school. go somewhere else
My child had the worst experience possible in this school. There are so many ways we can complain. 1. The toilets were very run down, and they smelt as if 1000 people vomited. 2. The lessons were very easy. My child gained nothing out of that school, work wise. They learnt things that my daughter could’ve learnt about in kindy at her current school. 3. There were so many bullies at Wahroonga Public. The teachers didn’t care at all, and no matter how many times I contacted her teacher, they didn’t do anything. 4. The teachers. The teachers at Wahroonga Public are insanely rude and were mistreating my child. An example is, a boy pushed her down the staircase. When my daughter informed the teacher, the teacher couldn’t care less. 5. The irresponsibility of staff. One time, I was late to pick up my daughter, so I emailed the school to be with her in the office. The office lady said that she would take care of her and provide her with a book to keep her busy whilst waiting. However, when I go to find my daughter, I don’t see her in the office. I check the bathrooms and she wasn’t there. I finally check ASC (after school care) and she was there. She only had to wait about 10-15 minutes until I picked her up. I had no idea how to enrol my child into after school care, so I just left her at the office. When I confronted the staff they put on a fake smile apologising. Soon after that, I discovered that this school wasn’t a healthy school at all. I wouldn’t recommend this school, if your child wants to have a good time in primary school.
Wahroonga Public School is an excellent school that provides great learning facilities, exceptional teachers/teaching skills and fantastic attitude from all students. Wahroonga Public School provides students with many opportunities and activities. It excels in sports, academics, music and general attitude as well. Wahroonga Public School also runs its own spectacular music program for many students if they are interested, and the students in Concert Band are given the chance to go on a three day and two night Band Tour around New South Wales. This school also regularly holds annual carnivals, and every four years it has a stunning show. Every year, students are given the opportunity to go on at least 2 excursions, and years five and six go on two trips to Canberra and The Great Aussie Bush Camp. If you are looking for a school to meet all your child(s)’ needs, I strongly recommend you to enrol at Wahroonga Public School. There is no other school like this one.
Couldn’t rate this school more highly. Genuinely caring place with a good parent community. Teaching quality is pretty consistent. Watch out, the famous Trivia Night fundraiser always gets rowdy (in a good way)!
