When I first moved to the US from Germany with my 4yr old daughter I looked at pre-schools close to home. I was in shock! Literally. I could not believe how the walls were plastered with things the children had to learn, at that age! Also the playgrounds seemed to ‘sterile’. One peticular place was very proud of their new playground in the court yard of the building. When I mentioned that there was not a tree, shrub or flower to be seen the woman laughed and said: ‘You sound like one of those Waldorf people’.
I knew of Waldorf (being german one does) looked them up, took a tour and enrolled my girl there and then. She had the best time ever. Due to personal issues (that had nothing to to with Waldorf!) she could only attend for 3 years. But it was such a great time and we have fond memories. I would highly recommend it for any child.
