My son went to this school back when he was in 4th and 5th grade between 2003- 2005. I loved the school until he was in the 5th grade and got bullied on the basketball court. A older kid picked him up and slammed him on the concrete which caused him to get a concussion. I did not receive a call from anyone and when I picked my son up from school that day he was crying in pain with his head and his hand, luckily I worked for an orthopedic surgeon and a physical therapist they looked at him and said to take I him to the er not only did he have a concussion but also had a break in his hand, the first medicarsal, had to get a cast up to the elbow. The principal would never return my calls and 6 weeks after he started having seizures, after the second one he was diagnosed with epilepsy. So this pretty much screwed his life up, he went from being a A- B honoral student to getting D’s and F’s, his dream of being in the military was gone after that, short time memory loss and on meds for the rest of his life…I was a young mother and didn’t peruse it which I Wish I would have but i knew no better and no help on what to do.The principal ignored my calls, unbelievable but he did .. because of this school it changed our lives forevermore. I hope that principle she’s this post and understand the effects he had on our lives. Hopefully no other child will go through this.
In my opinion this school isnt good nor bad the health department (nurses office) can do a better job at caring for students, if they have a headache dont just send them back to class do more! , i know more can be done beside having them put there head down. The schools food is dry and not a lot of students enjoy some items that is given to them most kid will get pizza and avoid what ever else is being served but even the pizza is dry. another problem would be the bathrooms, in the bathrooms some kids tend to leave there feces, urine, period blood, and other things on the walls, floor, and in and on the toilets, that is very unpleasent for those who have to see these things. An extension in passing period time would be very considerate and will allow kids to have enough time to get to class. it would also be kind if you would allow some of the kids who have to walk to school to enter through the front of the school. Thank you!
Several fights have happened and the year has barely started. They always serve Pizza, which is trash. I have witnessed multiple kids get jumped near the school and they were always students. Other than that, the school is good and the teachers are really, really nice. The school is in a ok ish area. Mr Severino is lit (he shamed our class into writing this rip) and Mr Blake was pretty lit. I can never forget about Ms Washko, who went above and beyond to let me fix my grade and redo 5 assignment to save my grade. Well, if you go here, here is a tip: STAY IN SCHOOL, BUT DON’T STAY IN CHINESE. Also, be careful. You can literally get sent to the deans for running in the halls, trying not to get locked out during a tardy lockout.
