MY son was here last year and this year until yesterday! I finally had enough!! I put him in the school because I heard it was great with an awesome principal! Unfortunately for us when he started last year there was a new principal and new rules to get into the school “no more testing for admittance “! His first year he was asked to smoke weed and cigarettes, the other boys were watching porn on their phones! The teachers don’t care they just want the check and to leave! Mrs Olson seems to be the only teacher that ever tried to help! Mr. Drake showed the kids a movie that cut off at a scene leaving the impression the girl was raped! My son was highly upset and offended ! Off course principal didn’t do much about it! The children are treated like prisoners ! Escorted to the bathroom, to the lockers they have to share which so many things have come up missing ! They get escorted to class! Where is there independence and freedom ?! This year I have had the assistant principal Mrs. Sobak ask my son was he gay?, then proceeded to say, “ let me cut this gay music on for you to calm you down”! I filed a complaint with the school board of course nothing was done! She even called to say “your son is acting a plum fool someone needs to come get him, I don’t know what’s wrong with him”. Well if you accuse me of being gay I would be upset also if I was not and I’m only 12 years old! My son is still a child ! This school is TRASH! A girl was caught texting a boy saying she wanted to have sex with him and his dad and have his baby! Another mother has the texts! Police came she was suspended and now she is right back, touching on boys still being very inappropriate!! ???????????????????????????????????

I received a call about a month ago from my son’s orchestra teacher complaining that my son had been disrespectful bc he continued to ask questions. I brought up to him that it was my knowledge that if the kids in the class had any questions to present them to another teacher in class. Mr. Lampkins big complaint was that my child continued to ask questions. I requested to set up a meeting since he brought up a few other complaints, which was surprising to me since the school year is half over and this was never brought up to my attention and was told by Mr. Lampkins that he would call me back, which he did not that day. I proceeded to contact him the following day and was told by him that he would call me back shortly, which he never did. A week later I contacted him via email and again never heard a response back. A week after that I left VM requesting that he contact me back and surprise surprise STILL no answer. I contacted the school to make a complaint and was told that the principal would be contacting me to discuss my concerns and no call. I am a parent that is invested in supporting my child’s education and collaborating with the teachers, especially if it’s brought to my attention that there is an issue. We are looking for a new school moving forward as I am unable to accept this unprofessionalism when it comes to my son and his education. WEDGEWOOD GET IT TOGETHER!!! YOU HAVE PEOPLE’S CHILDREN IN YOUR HANDS!

I used to be a student at Wedgwood Park. I have many reasons to give the school a one star rating.
1. The food sucks (one time some of my rice was uncooked)
2. Some of the teachers are more immature than the actual students.
3. The school is to strict when it comes to going to the bathroom or drinking water because you always need to be by a teacher or security guard to go anywhere.
4. There’s a lot of ghetto kids which means there’s a lot of fights.
5. There’s not a lot diversity in the school (they call themselves the most diverse middle school)
6. We’re all divided and don’t really get to mix with other students.
