We have had the worst experience at West Field. First, our son was being bullied and he came home with scratches down his arm. This was after two other occasions and we never received any communication. Second, and most importantly, our son was supposed to go to after school care and the teacher put him in the wrong line and he was sent home on the bus. He sat outside of our house by himself for over an our before a stranger approached him and asked if he needed help. Lastly, he was sick and went to the nurses office where they told him to lay down for a minute. They didn’t feel his forehead or take his temperature and he came home with a temperature of 104.2. The principal is extremely difficult to communicate with and gets extremely defensive. They have little regard for the safety of the children.
Im in middle school now but for the most part I was at West Field it wasnt the best but the teachers are Great!! For me there was a lot of downs I got accused for ALL the drama and Im the one that got in trouble for it when I wasnt actually the one who was doing it!! But that was in 4th grade. In 5th grade it was way better we had a new principal and she was honestly the sweetest person I have ever met!! She cared a lot about the students and we had this club called the Kindness club and I was apart of it it was held by Mrs.Shyrock sorry if I spelled her name wrong!! Kindness club is awesome it was a great experience and there was a lot of people i didnt really know and that helped me get closer to everyone!! I love love love the teachers they are great!!!
It is a wonderful school in general. However you cannot let your child go there with cash or valuables. My son took a large amount of cash there without my knowing. It was never recovered. Our budget has never recovered either. We are having to move to cheaper housing at this point because of it. Check your child’s pockets every morning. Also I do not like not having access to building where my child attends. That is very unnerving as a parent.
