I went to this school when i was small so naturally i had my daughter attend this school she has gone to this school from k-5th well some of 5th.. this year she had Ms. Morrey i got to meet her on back to school night and i was excited to see that she seemed like a good teacher. But after the 3rd week of school she sent home a paper saying that my child had missing home works. So as a mom i went down to talk to her to see what we can do to keep my daughter up with her home work. My daughter was told she could not get a copy of her homework due to lack of goMath work books but yet we have had fundraisers through out the year and were having one presently $10.00 candy bars or donations. Ok fine i tried to understand but i asked why couldnt she make copies of the hoe work to give to her student her answer was that she didnt have a clear copy to do that for her so she had to get online to copy down the home work so i went in with my daughter before school started and she pointed to a table with computers and said log in and go into goMath mind you my daughter has never had to do this so she had no idea were to go since she has never had any problem with missed assignments, or she has always gotten a copy to re due. Any who So as im standing there watching my daughter have no clue were to didnt the home work i look over to her desk so that she can come over to help but she talking to her student aid. Finally the student aid looks over and tells Ms. Morrey that were do we go next. Finally she gets us to were she needs to copy the work. Another reason why she couldnt give her a copy of the home work was because of copyright laws that they had this year which make no sense since we were just coping it on a blank piece of paper. Copyright means not an original well im sure that copying it on a piece of paper is not an original. Very contradicting. It really just sounded like an excuse. I believe that an educator has the responsibility to provide all documents and supplies meet to educated the student. After this i had an appointment with Mr. Nelson the principal someone who i thought would understand the meaning of a good educator & my worry of having my daughter not succeed in her class room also every year they have a reading log which my daughter had misplaced and i had asked her to ask Ms. Morrey for another copy since that shouldnt be a copyright law she should be ok with providing one again. But Ms. Morrey’s answer was NO you will just have to do a 1 to 2 page summary she still had time to fill out the reading log so i had no idea why that was a problem. Due to having an appointment with Mr. Nelson and asking to change her classes all he could do was argue that she was a good teacher and that i had a problem with her and that wasnt the case i had a problem with my daughter not getting the help in education that she needed to succeed. She has never had a problem with any teacher or home work remember shes been there since kindergarten i’ve loved all her teachers Miss Butler K, Ms. Dumas 1st, Ms. O’Brian 2nd, Ms. Henriksen 3rd, Miss. Snow 4th after our appointment Mr. Nelson wanted nothing to do with us trying to shut me up with simply saying that he was going to give me what i wanted which was to move my daughter to another class. He seemed to understand at first bit when we had the meeting with Ms. Morrey things took a turn and saw that he was against all i had said and suggested taking her side an getting loud with me in front of my 10 year old making her cry in the end i decided to just pull her out of that school. In another note they got very upset that i had said that i had witnessed that Ms. Morrey was a bully suggesting to other girls that one girl was sassy and the girls asked if that was the girls new name as if they should start calling her that. Not ok, so she caught her self seeing i was in the room and said no we should call her cutie patootie. Long story i know there is more but be careful parents because people can act one way around adults and another way when they arent around.
My son is currently in the 3rd grade there. We’ve attended two other granite school district schools (Roosevelt being the worst) and he seemed to be falling between the cracks. Thanks to an active staff that genuinely care about the students and a fantastic teacher he is caught up and moving right along.

It’s in a bad area, but the school itself is phenomenal. Thank you so much to the teachers and principal and staff! I appreciate everything you do!

All of my kids go here we have always had great experiences with teachers if we had any problems they were always willing to help. I am really glad this is the school my children attend.
