Good morning, my name is Leilani Tyson and I’m an alumni of Westchester School of Beauty Culture! I started school in 2018 and graduated in 2019 with high grades, explicit knowledge of hair, skin, and nails, and a professional job opportunity at a Salon in Port Chester! I must say the staff at this school goes beyond and above to help those that want to achieve success in the beauty industry! I went through a loud of obstacles throughout my journey of getting my Cosmetology License. It took me a while because of the pandemic to successfully complete both practical and written exams; but now I’m done. It is 2021 and I can proudly say I am a Licensed Cosmetologist! I also want to thank Ms. Jessica, Mr. Michael and Ms.Patty (School owners) , Mr. John, Mr.Frank, Ms. Margarita, and Ms. V. (Teachers) , Ms. Colleen (Financial Office) and Deirdre Tyson (My mom and Alumni of Westchester School of Beauty Culture (1983))! Without this amazing staff and my mom I would not be the successful business woman that I am today! THANK YOUUUUU!!!!!!!
I needed my natural hair done in a silk press for an upcoming interview. My hairstylist was unavailable to tend to my last minute request, so I remembered the beauty school in Mount Vernon had a salon where the students do your hair. I was assigned a nice young lady named Anastasia who was very professional, sweet, took direction well and she was a newbie to the school. Well I hadn’t noticed that she was a newbie because she had such wonderful customer service. Not to mention it was her very first time ever doing a silk press. Well for it to have been her first time, it’s certainly a treat to get such good service. I left with my hair looking GOOD and having body and bounce. I would certainly take the chance of getting my hair done here again. Anastasia’s work displays the level of education, product knowledge and professionalism that Westchester School of Beauty posses. I definitely recommend if it a try.
