I’ve had a really poor experience with this branch of WR.
The course was lacking an experienced teacher (they had only qualified on the same course themselves 4 months prior to teaching).
I never recieved any grading on my assignments, never told what I did well, what needed improving or if I had something completely wrong.
Anyway once I had ‘completed’ the course I had recieved demands to settle the bill but did absolutely nothing to remedy my complaint. I’m still waiting.
Don’t waste your time here. After speaking the other students who attended Huddersfield, it seems I’m not the only one who had a negative experience here.
Go to the Harrogate branch. It is wonderful, very thorough teachings, great student support with knowledgeable, friendly and experienced staff.
Excellent college with knowledgeable, professional staff yet who are very friendly and approachable. Any concerns I had (such as stressing about course work) were dealt with with empathy understanding. The treatment/classrooms are a fantastic learning environment and emulate a professional salon perfectly. I loved my level 2 Complementary Course so much I decided to bite the bullet and apply for the Level 3. They are very flexible in the sense that you can do certain modules of the full Complementary Therapies such as Reflexology and Body Massage as separate course as opposed to the full Level 3 course, which would suit some people better.
Found the services manager Megan to be very helpful and knowledgeable regarding applying for Advanced Learner Loans etc… they assist you every step of the way. Highly recommended.
(Perhaps the reviewer moaning that she was told to remove her stretched ear gauze’s doesn’t fully understand the rules about uniform when it comes to Beauty Therapy…… Therapists have to conform to certain appearance standards- you get marked on it during your practical assignments. Unlike hairdressers for example who can follow a more fashion style of dress. Felt her review to be completely unfair)
This is a fantastic place for anyone wanting to go into the beauty industry.I too have trained at this college the staff were amazing and very knowledgeable. they were very helpful and guided me every step of the way. the standard of cleanliness is very good and the staff are professional at all times. the College is equipped very well with the relevant training equipment. would highly recommend this college, As it offers evening classes and day classes which are helpful if you have other commitments.
This college is not even deserving of one star but in order to leave a review of my experience I had to click the star. My sister had attended this college and had a bad experience but I figured that I will attend and judge on my own and indeed my sister was absolutely correct. I find the staff that represents this establishment lacks in respect and come across fairly judgmental and the looks that they give I can tell you it don’t get any awards. They are not fair and what they do to get good reviews on paper is indeed disgusting by giving us students rating forms to fill in when we have only started the course so not having any idea of how good they are so we are being forced to give false testimonies and I say forced because they know exactly what they are doing and by putting a person on the spot they know perfectly well that you will most certainly feel obliged to do so. Secondly they 100 percent do not cater to all student needs although they do put on a face and give you a rubbish speak like if they do but in fact don’t. The privacy and confidentiality is appalling. The class rooms temperature are reduclous with it being cold and not being allowed to wear a cardi, how is that an inviting environment??? I wear gauge with my ear lobes being stretched I was told to remove them…. I can’t see the problem of my gauges, it’s not harming me or anyone, my gripe is don’t tell me to remove my Jewellery when it’s not casing any bother at all while others can sport their wedding band and other piercings, we are there to learn not to be told to remove our jewellery and demolish our identity, my gauges is who I am it’s my identity it’s my personality so please stop trying to disidentify the student in your establishment and focus on making our experience a pleasant, unjudgmental jounery and give us credit on our work rather than our characteristics. I will be taking this further as white rose and it’s staff focus is on the wrong matter, take your focus off our accessories and focus on not deceiving us and not forcing us to fill in forms which are based on lies and what we have not yet done or seen. I urge people to keep away from this college it’s bad news.
As a mature student from a health background looking for a change….i cannot state how fabulous the college staff..other students..facilities.. support ..have all been whilst undertaking the level 2 and now level 3 complementary therapies courses.
My health,my outlook,my passion for a new caring direction in my work/ life balance all aligned …. I would encourage anyone thinking of a change from humdrum to give it a try with White Rose.
