This school… where do I begin. The first day of school the office staff looked angry and responded to inquiries with conviction. I wasn’t properly informed about the paperwork or the open house, as a new parent of a special needs child. Plus I created a care plan before the start of the school year, with the teacher and the nurse, regarding food restrictions, because my daughter has food sensitivities and allergies, which, when eaten, can be life threatening, or cause serious chronic health and behavior issues. The second week in, the care plan was not followed, worse yet, when I contacted the principal, with concern, not threat, he responded as though I threatened them with a lawsuit, and then told me that because no food allergies or sensitivities were mentioned on the notes section of the vaccine report, that my ‘careplan’ wasn’t legally binding and the school didn’t have to follow it. In addition to this error, many documents and PTA fundraising payments of cash disappeared and they claimed that they never received it. I wasn’t permitted, even though my background check had cleared, to observe the classroom, and later discovered that I had been discriminated against. I contacted the school superintendent and told them my findings, as we had few IEP meetings with them present to ensure that the needs of my child were supported and met, to which wasn’t allowed (I had no clue what the school was teaching. I even tried to pull her out of this school but was told that if I did, she’d loose her program and might not be able to get back in.) I cried most of the school year, wishing I knew how to better help my child and hoping my child was safe in their school.
This school is very ,very AWFUL! To many kids in each classroom and the VIOLENCE and BEHAVIOR between kids is OUTRAGEOUS . It took 3 years to have removed a Kid with Angry Outburst and Disgusting Language ,as a Parent I highly Don’t recommend this School . I had Witnessed how this School fix the Behavior problem , I am very disappointed . The School administrators just tells you what you want to hear. The lunchroom is a Nightmare !!! awful ,awful awful school !!!
I have two kids that go here. My son struggles everyday with his teacher. Now I have to tutor my daughter every night with reading and what’s up with not having spelling tests ? Elementary has changed a lot since I went to school I guess.
