I am an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at WCUCOM and this is my fifth year of teaching here. I think WCUCOM is putting out an excellent physicians because of the amazing teamwork and attitude by each of the academic professors and staff directed at helping each individual student. Invariably each year, some medical students will struggle with the rigors of medical education and WCUCOM professors try very hard to help each student overcome their individual obstacles. Each of the professors has an “open door policy” welcoming personal dialogue with any student about issues important to the student. The students at WCUCOM don’t have a “cut-throat” mentality and that makes the learning environment better for everyone. The facilities at WCUCOM are very nice offering each student a good learning environment. The medical school at WCUCOM is attached to WCU so the students have access to a great school cafeteria and student union. Hattiesburg is a great city to live in during medical school training as it’s large enough to offer a plethora of restaurants, businesses, and entertainment while small enough you can easily maneuver around town. Anyone interested in an excellent osteopathic medical education should look into applying to WCUCOM!
