I have not been happy with this school most of this school year so I finally removed my son from this environment. We have never really felt welcomed and always felt like we were outsiders looking in – to an environment that is very cliquish starting from the top. And I’m writing this review with facts from my perspective so please take that into account.

The issues we experienced are numerous – starting with teachers that don’t really seem to care or focus on the students as my son was NEVER able to get math help. Surprisingly, though, he is thriving in his new school and actually learning math. Also, sports seems to be where the money is and it seems to be a “win at all costs” mentality and we found that coaches do not treat players fairly or equitably.

Finally, the administration has absolutely no consistency in how they handle issues. For example, my son rode the bus home one day from an event, with the school’s permission, but not dressed in his uniform. This came back on my son at the next event as they felt he could not be trusted to follow the rules and potentially would get all other students kicked out of the event due to his “behaviors”. So, I had to drive him to this next event, he could not stay with his peers and once again, we were basically shunned. But the odd thing is, they NEVER had a conversation with my son before they basically shunned him.

Then once I withdrew my son, the business office was supposed to send me final billing. Of course, they didn’t do that, but they were very quick to charge me a $40 late charge.

Overall, the school talks about being an excellent education, but if you don’t fit their mold, are not part of the clique or do not have tons of money to throw at their various programs, then you will not fit. And for being a “Christian” school, I feel that they epitomize the hypocrisy of Christianity.

And to add insult to injury, they raised tuition next school year by 8% when I was hard-pressed to even feel like we were getting our money’s worth with the existing tuition.

WCA is a beautiful private school. The main focus is to teach our beautiful children God’s word while teaching other curriculums. For example when your child starts 1st grade they will learn how to write in cursive and they will have spelling tests every week. They don’t do that in public schools anymore. My daughter has been going to WCA for 2 years now and she is thriving with honor rolls. The AP courses your child is available to is amazing so when they graduate they’re one step ahead for college. They don’t teach common core. Only 25 students per class helps the teachers focus on each and every need for your child. The campus is a very safe environment for our little Angels as well. With a very strick security system and a sheriff on campus at all times makes your anxiety about safety at ease. WCA offers morning and afternoon care for our children too. You do not get that at a public school. Tuition is affordable then any other private schools. And they work with a scholarship program as well. They have preschool for the ages 2 to 4. The staff of WCA are very friendly and you feel welcomed the moment you walk in the doors (after being screened in). WCA does not tolerate bullying what so ever. For example 3 times of proven that bullying had occurred your child is out. The school has an indoor playground for your children to not miss out on releasing energy. They also offer a summer day camp. I love WCA and I love knowing my daughter and (when my son starts going to preschool there) they’re learning in Gods hands with love.
