This school does not look out for the majority of students. The young people that go to this school are neglected mentally. They always put kids in the system (D.C.P) first, as well as the children in the specialised sports program (S.S.C). I experienced this first hand. When there is conflict, the school favours the child in a ‘broken home’ as they have more on their plate. The music program is good, but it gets completely ruined by one teacher in particular. She has physically assaulted students, threatened the students with suspension, and favours the singers. When it comes to projects, she has full control over what it has played. Her behaviour pushes kids away from creating and experiencing music. Her actions impact the student dynamic of the kids in the class as she chooses outdated songs that none of the children agree to. Her reasoning, of course, is that ‘it is better to learn a song everyone hates then to learn something everyone likes so then it is equal’. Music has been proven to be therapeutic and relieve stress, but all this teacher does is ruin the therapeutic properties. The other teachers i have found truly do want their students to succeed but struggle with the sheer amount of work they need to complete and dealing with students being disrespectful at the same time. I believe the school could be great if they can just take the time to figure out what the children respond the best to with learning and getting along with peers.
I would like to explain that for the amount for education, opportunity and resources provides is amazing. with many great teachers and staff to work with. with senior school reiving space to help with learning towards their education and the SACE.
School that doesn’t care what illegal activity their students get up to when they should be at school. Young men and women with no respect for others
they didnt let me go home early
Did not go to this school as a student, but i know many students who have gone here, and have visited for multiple functions. The schools reputation leaves alot of its students in a position where mentioning their school name makes them seem ‘uncool’. And the students loudly parade around the surrounding streets after school hours, not even just the closely surrounding streets either.

The school does have the redeeming qualities that it focuses highly on physical education and has a very good primary to highschool transition process.
