I looked for two years for a place to put my son in.
I needed to feel confident they would accommodate him and his needs 100%.
Out of everywhere I toured this one stood out the most to both my son and I.
He has been there for a year now and even during the pandemic the support and encouragement from the staff and educators were amazing. My son absolutely loves this place feels so safe and secure, he has bonded so well with them all.
This place has helped my son grow and learn so much, he has gained confidence and knowledge I knew I wouldn’t be able to provide him.
I absolutely love this place.
I could not be happier with WCK and have sent both of my children there. One still attends. The staff are outstanding educators as well as lovely. They always have the best interest of the kids in their plans, thoughts and ideas for the kindy. They plan activities that the kids have shown an interest in. My children always came back with big smiles and often some new experiments, art ideas and things they had learned or discovered!!
We have wonderful experience with the WCK. Miss Meli and all educators are always loving and caring. The very first days when my daughter came to the centre, she was such a shy girl, she wouldn’t even talk to anyone . The team at the WCK had done a beautiful job helping she got out of her shell. My daughter enjoyed every single day being at school. I can’t recommend the WCK highly enough!
Having to work full-time is not an ideal situation especially when your children are young. Mother’s guilt seems to creep in and I am constantly thinking, is my daughter happy; is she having fun; is she developing her social, literacy and numeracy skills…well all my concerns lead to one answer…YES. Meli and her team of exceptional teachers at Wollongong Cottage Kindergarten are a remarkable group of facilitators that ensure my daughter not only feels safe in her pre-school environment but is encouraged to work towards positive social interactions whilst developing her confidence in her learning.

My daughter Christina raves on about her day with Miss Meli, Miss Rachel, Miss Rach and Miss Elise. She tells me about her adventures with her friends and the amazing stories that her teachers read to her; the latest of which was ‘Thelma the Unicorn”. Christina told me…’mum, it’s OK to just be you!’ – This statement brought the biggest smile to my face.

The children at WCK are given ample opportunities to play outside and explore the plentiful herb gardens (which the children have planted), water station, and sand area. Christina has educated me all about the importance of wearing a ‘bucket hat’ and ‘covering shoulders’ when it is hot outside.

The teachers at WCK have also prepared my daughter for her next milestone – BIG school. Meli and her team have developed a wonderful school readiness program for the graduates of 2017; Miss Rach has even taught Christina how to hold her pencil properly enhancing her fine motor skills.

I have truly had a very positive experience at WCK – I could not think of a better pre-school to send my daughter to. Keep up the wonderful work and thank-you for all that you do for Christina. My husband and myself appreciate it! I would highly recommend this pre-school to anyone who asks.

My 3 year old nephew attended this kindergarten for the past year. I often drop him off and pick him up. Initially he had delayed social skills and speech but the work they have done with him is marvellous. The owner and all staff there are a delight to deal with. The place is very clean. cannot recommend enough. should get 7 stars.
