I recently went to the Woonsocket high school to register my friend’s daughter as I had to translate for her. I had previously called to know if they had an interpreter there, and some rude woman gave me attitude on the phone! I found that very inappropriate and I knew she was lying because I’ve been told by several people that there is a very nice young lady in the office that speak Spanish very well.
I asked the lady about her and she rudely said she isn’t an interpreter and she’s not here today. When we got to the school later that day, I noticed the nice secretary people told me about was helping a Spanish speaking student with a personal issue she had. The secretary by the front door assumed we didn’t speak any English and told us to go around to see her. That was rude, and very discriminatory!!! We walked over to the other secretary and she smiled right away, she was so friendly, polite and patient (We had a lot of questions). It was a relief for my friend to know there was someone there she’d be able to talk to once her daughter started school. That secretary deserves 5 starts!! Good job Woonsocket dept for having people like her to help out with great attitude
this district is the lowest ranking in the state, i believe. i have subbed for them and dealt with many of the administrators. My son also attended citizens many years ago for about 3 months and I had to pull him out. He had an aide teaching his class.. Every interaction I have ever had with this district has been horrific. The students are out of control. I worked in a kindergarten class as a co-teacher for english language learners and the students would scream and hit and abuse the teacher! The teacher would just take it day after day. All the principals are incompetent. Truly a horror show. The state needs to take over this district and re configure the entire thing.
