I’m really going to miss West Yas. I’ve been here for four years, and I pray to Allah that I can come back. I’m leaving this school because it’s very expensive. I’ve made so many memories here with amazing teachers and classes. The last day was so special to me, as was the first.

I’ve been through a few arguments, but it all got sorted in the end with a few teachers. I’ve made lots of friends, too! But one problem I had here is that there is so much favoritism. Please fix this before next year! Non-natives got special treatment as if they owned the school or would sue if they got a refocus! My point is that natives and non-natives should both get equal opportunities, such as being in advertisements or taking pictures more. Natives get compared to them, and it’s terrible. It makes me cry when I go home thinking I’m not good enough.

There are a few things I’d like to add. My best friend got physically hurt by another person but was too scared to tell on her and was threatened. After we made the decision to inform the head of the house, they decided to do nothing about it. How horrible is that?

Another incident happened when I was made to sit alone on a bus while all my other friends sat together. I felt so lonely :(. I was obviously crying, and a head of house threatened me and told me to stop.

Luckily, at the end of the day, my mum fixed that.
I really wish I hadn’t been through those incidents.
Thank you, West Yas, for being the most memorable school ever. I love all the teachers there, too.

Yes, American Academy is a great school that always strives to develop students into knowledgeable adults with a great set of values. The school’s behavior management is top-notch, and students truly feel that they belong.
Wonderful learning environment. Great staff. Well-resourced. Modern facilities. My daughter is in Grade 2 and loves being a part of this school community!
Yas American Academy is a beautiful school with a huge complex. Children were always happy to attend school and full of smiles when we used to pick them up. We attributed this to the exemplary teaching and community feel of the school. Unfortunately, this has deteriorated over the years. Every year there is a new principal. Mr. Nourse, the previous principal, was the best. Only a few teachers are kind and dedicated. Other teachers are not up to par, and for every small mistake a child makes, parents receive an email from the school complaining about their child. If teachers keep complaining, this will demotivate a child, and he/she will not like going to school. This puts a lot of mental and emotional burdens on the students, and they cannot enjoy learning. Teachers should make an effort to make the classes enjoyable. Learning should be enjoyable, and teachers should make this possible. Why are some teachers hard on students when they clearly know that the student will not benefit from it? The best education is not everything you learn in the classroom. Put yourself in the child’s shoes before you complain about a child. Try to motivate the child so that they love learning and enjoy going to school. The only good thing about this school now is Mr. Paul Bayston. He is the most understanding vice principal I have ever met. He is very professional, caring, friendly, and down-to-earth.
I truly fell in love with the school. My children have made so many relationships with the students and teachers and learned many lessons.
A very good school located on Yas Island. The transportation system needs improvement.
All three of my children are students; the oldest has been for four years now. The campus is state-of-the-art, the teachers and administrators are excellent, and there are lots of enrichment activities. They follow the Massachusetts state curriculum—one of the best in the United States—and my children have excelled, even compared to peers in the United States (where I am from). I absolutely recommend this school!
