My 3 year old confessed to me that Miss Madelin hit her in her head and back, pushed her off the playground and was “not nice.” She said specifically “Miss Madelin hits babies.” She said this behavior happened at nap time… daily. I feel heartbroken and completely betrayed – Miss Madelin has been her teacher for nearly 2 years. How someone presents to the public has nothing to do with their actual character.

There is some weirdness happening with “pat downs” and “rub downs” at nap time. I always wondered why Miss Madelin got squirrely once when I tried to stop by one time before nap time.

The fact that this facility has no cameras in the year 2024 is a disgrace. I believe my 3 year old, especially given the stream of injuries she’s had the past 4 months. ALL to her head and/or mouth.

The director and vice president handled this situation pathetically. She told me she wasn’t going to call CPS because it’s “heresay.” Yeah, that’s not how this works Miss Tiffany, I called CPS and they indeed said you are mandatory reporters.

Don’t send your kids here. I was fooled by the beautiful facade, but they don’t actually care or have empathy.

My daughter’s preschool teacher was also abruptly fired and they never provided a reason. I had witnessed that teacher yelling at my daughter and another girl during one of her earliest days of her starting there. My daughter was waving at me through the window and the girls stood up out of excitement. The teacher didn’t see I was standing there and screamed at them. I don’t know why I didn’t move them then.

We are our children’s only advocates. Listen to them, believe them. Pay attention to subtleties. There were other signs that I wasn’t fast enough to piece together. I’m so glad she told me and she can go to a different environment where she feels safe and seen.

Put the damn cameras in young explorers – at this point you look like accomplices.

After taking nine months off of work to stay home with our son, we painstakingly researched childcare and visited our top choices. From the beginning, Karen, the director, and Ashley, the assistant director, have been incredibly pleasant to work with and always follow through with communications in a timely manner. Ms. Alyssa made our 9 month old light up and Ms. Nicole is such a positive force. During the beginning months of the pandemic, we kept our son home but returned 4.5 months into it and were greeted with the same smiles (hidden under masks) as when we left. Our son LOVES going to school. He’s constantly learning, playing, and socializing in a wonderful environment.
My child absolutely loves the program at Young Explorers because they truly make learning Fun!!
The follow up that they share on your child’s progress is amazing and top notch! You get daily reports of what they’re learning and my child can’t wait for more! We value the entire staff and can’t say enough amazing things about the school and program!
If you are looking for a place that you can truly trust for your little one, look no further! This place is the BEST!
Thank you Young Explorers of Avon!!!??
