I went to Young Junior High 7th and 8th grade year. My experience was amazing, and to be honest those years were some of my best years so far. The past reviews from former or current students are most likely from kids who do not enjoy learning and didn’t make the best out of their junior high years. That is no one else’s fault but theirs. The teachers at Young were amazing, and both years I had outstanding teachers that were extremely supportive. The reviews that say things like “violence in the hallways” or “too many black people” are extremely wrong. There was little violence and maybe 3-6 fights each year (which cannot compare to other junior highs in the district). As for the racial reviews, there was a good amount of all races, and a wide variety of kids. I learned so much not only in academics and sports, but in life as well. The whole staff was always there for me throughout my junior high years. Because of Young Junior High, I am going into 9th grade at Martin HS with a strong mentality that my years at MHS will be just as good if not better, than my years in Junior High. I will forever have Eagle Pride! Thank You!
My experience there has been ?? At times its been really good I’ve met so many good friends there but there have been times where its not been so good. Theres so much Homophobia and transphobia there its almost unbareable . Being LGBT myself its hard to get threw the week without encountering someone that is being very homophobic or transphobic. I know many people think its just a phase and for some it is just let people explore and find themselves. other than that i LOVE the theater department the teacher for the theater department are absolutely amazing and some of my favorite teachers there and ive met so many amazing people threw the plays and being crew and cast i love it.
School is perfectly fine. Some teachers seem unethuzed. lunches are too crowded even with three lunch schedules. I have barely enough time to eat. Children are not very happy about this school and constantly yell. There are some awful people going to school here, but that isn’t the schools fault. Overall, decent school but it could use some TLC.
