Both of my kids go to this school. When My son was not doing good in school and COVID hit when he was going from Jr high to high school and the first semester he got way behind so about mid year he transferred to YCCP and earned some credits. in that half of year he made up all but 5 credits so his sophomore year he was still a 9th grader. and he worked to get all the credits he could and now he made up and will be a junior this year he is back on track and even 3 credits ahead. My daughter was having some problems at Yuba Gardens and could not get much help from the school to stop what was going on she was failing and it was a fight every morning to get her up and to school. I even had to go to SARB court because she would avoid school at all costs to avoid the kids and some staff. We put her in YCCP and now she went from failing to A’s and B’s and she will be starting her freshman year this year and she is looking forward to it. This school is great for the kids that have a hard time in regular school settings. there are so many reasons why kids would hate to go to school these days. The way kids treat each other any more is so way worse than it used to be. The suicide rate is at an all time high for jr. high and high school kids because of the way they are treated by their peers as well as some staff and causing kids to feel like they don’t matter/ no one cares about them. At YCCP the staff cares and lets the students know they are there to help and the staff is also easy to talk to and always friendly and willing to go above and beyond to help all the students there succeed. My son has been taking welding and my daughter is doing Auto. My brother graduated from here years ago studying auto mechanics and is now a certified mechanic working on tractors and trucks now. I wish this school was around when I was in high school. it offers great career opportunities and gives the kids a chance to have a career they will enjoy and a better chance getting a job right out of high school.
Beyond amazing School my son attended 4 years. If High School is not for your child this school is great they teach you trades my son did the mechanic / welding program. My son found himself passionate for welding graduated as Top welder Adan Salazar. He then attended yuba college welding program & now had joined pipe fitter / welding for local 228.
