I went here for a few months during my sixth grade year. I had to move because bullying was terrible, my grades were dropping because the teachers wouldn’t put grades in at the right time, and the teachers did not care about the students at all. The teachers at YMS are horrible, you could tell them that someone stabbed you and they would pass it off like nothing was happening.
Overcrowding is terrible. The lunch room is always too crowded, classrooms were sometimes overcrowded (at the beginning of the year).
I’m not sure how it is now, because I go to school in Texas, but in 6th grade everything at this school sucked. The bullying and fighting was terrible. Everybody that wasn’t rich enough, popular enough, or good looking enough were instantly outcasts. My friends that still go here tell me that its still the same.
I would not recommend sending your child here, and if your child is already attending this school, please talk to them about how they’re feeling. Please consider sending them to a different school.
This room is the Teachers lounge. The teachers are kind for the most part and every month the school buys kids Chick fila who have earned Miller cafe by being a good student. The teachers and school offer wide variety of learning and fun. But the teachers don’t do enough to stop bulling and sexual harassment in the hallways. On most days at least 3 fights break out in the halls. Most of the guys yell out offensive things in the halls and grapes girls butts resulting in a slap in the face. You would think after so long they would stop. They don’t. The meanest kids are the popular kids which shouldn’t even be popular because they are so mean to other people. In this school most kids don’t even care what the teachers tell them. The teachers can be the nicest ones there on most days and the elective ones are extremely fun. I can’t advise whether or not to put your kid in this school because some of it can be the best times of your life while other times really suck.
